Absolutely zero kneading of the muscles occurred. He pulled my skin and it felt like he was just resting his hands and arms on my back. Instead of a massage I had someone laying their hands on me and occasionally pulling my skin. I would have been much better off flushing the money down the toilet and rubbing my own neck. It’s really hard finding a good masseuse in Myrtle Beach for deep tissue massage and the massage I just received at the Grande Dunes Massage Envy was by far the most worthless, massage experience I could even imagine having. I have several spinal injuries and deep tissue massage is one of the few things that give me a good bit of relief. I don’t know if it’s possible to put in words how awful this massage experience was. Bc here I am 2 days later sick and most likely from the guy with the rattle when he breathed giving me a massage.Įveryone save your time and $ the service here is beyond a joke. They cared more about the sale than gaining a client. The server was underaged and the receptionist would have to go order it and bring it back, had I known my service would be $267 I would have insisted on the mimosa. Also I specifically asked if I could have a mimosa during the pedicure … they made every excuse for me not to get one. This spa may be suitable for older clients but for me it did not give the birthday experience i wanted. It would have been cheaper for me to book a room and use my Marriott points for the below average spa service. I have very dry, cracked heels well 50 minutes later I paid for polish and great conversation, but my pedicure was not giving what it was supposed to give. I specifically asked Deb if her pedicure was going to make a difference on my feet. But that wasn’t good enough I needed to waste another $146 on a pedicure. As soon as I heard the rattle I wanted to end the service but what do you do? I did ask him to not massage my neck and shoulders bc he has to stand directly over my head. He also barely touched me I didn’t feel as if my tissue had been massaged. So I was very tense and uncomfortable during the service. I wanted to get up bc he had a rattle when he breathed which caused me to be concerned about him being sick. However, he wasn’t personable he was very matter of fact and seemed low key annoyed. My massage therapist was a man which was fine, the lady asked me at booking if I was comfortable with a male mousse.and I said I was. As a marriott platinum member, I will reconsider using spas at my resorts. They also automatically charge you for a tip so my tip was a required $72.00. I expected a lot more than the $438.00 couple's massage at a luxurious spa. They initially said they couldn't do the same room which was fine but they found a way to accommodate us. My friend liked her massage with the male therapist but his breathing was so loud and shallow that we were worried for his health but he did a great job otherwise. She had so little room that her body was pressed against my head. She was also breathing directly into my face which is a no no for my students. I felt so bad for my therapist that I couldn't bring myself to tell her that that the pressure was entirely too light. But the couples massage was in a tiny room where the therapists could barely move and definitely not enough room for them to squeeze between the walls and the tables. The relaxation waiting area was nice with water, tea, and snacks. We enjoyed the locker rooms with robes, slippers, sauna and steam room and showers. They so kindly worked us in last minute and found a room for us to get 50 minute basic massages with 25 minute head massages. As the owner of a massage therapy clinic and also an instructor of Therapeutic Massage and my local community college, I was excited to try a spa experience in our resort with my good friend.
